I am a public school Speech-Language Pathologist and I teach small groups of students ranging from kindergarten through 5th grade who have a range of special needs/abilities. My classroom is located in a mobile building and is a shared room with two other support staff. As students transition from the main school building to my little speech oasis in the mobile classroom, it is obvious to see their need for movement. Children learn and process information through different modalities, especially those I serve with special needs. Children diagnosed with special needs such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorder, require classroom accommodations to provide them with sensory input so they can learn.
