I am looking at transforming my teaching environment in my 5th grade classroom. I need black light lamps in the classroom to help create an environment where the students become spies to problem-solve issues in science, social studies, math, & reading. Students will each have a classified spy school folder, case file booklets for taking notes, scan their finger prints using a finger scan app, have badges, and take part in a Spy School. The environment will include the black light lamps, a spy screen background, sound effects, & music. Some curriculum activities will include spying on most important details in Reading and student will become inference investigators. For writing/science students will rotate through tables and use their five senses to identify properties of objects in each box. For Math, students will "spy" the most important information in their "case files" to solve tricky word problems. There will be content integration of many subjects using the spy lab!
