My students come from families who are considered low-income and working class. At such a young age my students do not understand the difference in their economic situation. My students' diverse backgrounds provide them with prior knowledge to enhance our classroom discussions.
My students demonstrate such a determination for learning in two different languages (English & Spanish) to become biliterate.
They love to express themselves in different and creative ways, which isn't always possible without the required materials. My students always come to school demonstrating great excitement for learning.
