Greece. Egypt. Rome. Mesopotamia. India. China. All are some of the greatest civilizations on earth and all are ancient civilizations that we study in the sixth-grade. With magnificent cultures, gripping mythological stories, and intense battles, the history of our world’s ancient civilizations captures the attention of my students. With such engrossing historical topics and the abundance of voracious readers in the classroom this year, the addition of these novels will provide students with more opportunities to immerse themselves in the lives and cultures of some of our oldest civilizations.
With these novels, students will be able to experience the rich history of these ancient civilizations, bringing the stories, cultures, and societies of the past to life! Not only will these novels bring forth new perspective and appreciation for ancient cultures, the use of novel studies in the classroom also promotes communication, collaboration, dialogue, and vocabulary skills, all in which support the learning of language, comprehension, and communication within our students. This Ðǿմ«Ã½.org project will ultimately enrich the learning experience for students in the classroom by engaging young learners through reading and bringing the study of the past to the present.
