During mini-lessons for literacy, students will meet at the carpet rather than their desks. Since the lessons will be taught at the carpet, the students will not be able to rely on the technology that is only available in the front of the classroom.
An large easel to take notes and model on can help all students visualize the lesson and stay engaged. Students will also be motivated to work hard to write their ideas and examples on the post it paper during lessons.
After some lessons, these post it papers can be posted throughout the classroom as anchor charts to refer back to!
