My students attend a public charter school in a high poverty neighborhood in New York City. My ELL (English Language Learners) students are kind, smart and love learning. Some just arrived to the United states a week ago, a year ago or two or three years ago. Others have parents who only speak Spanish, French or an African language which has impacted their English acquisition.
