Each one of my students is so unique and learn in different ways. I teach my students different lessons through intentional read alouds. Students learn and focus better when they feel safe and comfortable.
With this requested A Place for Everyone classroom carpet my students will be able to go to the carpet for read alouds and know what color square to sit on. The students will get to work with shoulder partners and their row to discuss questions asked throughout the read aloud. Students will gather daily on this new classroom carpet and I will be able to teach important life lessons through reading and message time plus.
I am also requesting two books, Carla's Sandwich and Whoever You Are. I want to read these stories to my students to teach tolerance and acceptance of others. "Whoever You Are," and "Carla's Sandwich" have a message of accepting others the way they are and that you should love who you are. The books will provide an interactive message and students can learn reading fluency, grammar, and writing through the message.
