****Me and my students**** I鈥檓 a speech therapist at a Title I school in an urban area. I also travel to another Title I school once a week. This is my second year at this school district and second year overall! Every year I learn something new about my field and makes me fall more in love with being an SLP, but the thing that makes me love my job the most is my students!! I service 50-70 students with multiple different disabilities. Even though my job gets more challenging every year, nothing makes me happier than seeing a smile on my students faces! My students are working on IEP goals that range anywhere from articulation to retelling stories to basic communication of wants and needs to social skills to describing objects and more! They challenge me, encourage me and make me laugh on a daily basis and I鈥檓 so thankful that I get to be their 鈥渟peech teacher鈥.
