Our school serves low-income students in a large, urban district in Illinois. The environment outside our building is plagued with poverty and violence. But despite all of that, we work to create a safe and nurturing space that serves as a refuge for our scholars.
Our mission is to ensure our scholars develop the academic and character strengths to thrive in the best high schools, graduate from our nation's best colleges, and lead happy, peaceful lives.
Despite differing levels of ability, all of my scientists are excited when they enter the science classroom -- they all love to learn and I want to provide them with the most fruitful experiences in science to keep that spark alive throughout the complicated, middle school years.
