Many of my students come from families that are facing financial hardships. These stressors impact the way many of my students begin their day. Although, life's challenges, to no fault of their own, impact them in various ways, they are still young children who are inquisitive, eager to learn and to please, proud of any successes or achievements, and have unique interests and talents. My goal is to provide learning opportunities that meet those individual interests, engage the most anxious child, bring joy to them, and challenge them through thought provoking activities. My school does not have the funding to provide many of the materials that would be beneficial to my students' learning . We are a school that wants to see our children succeed, in spite of the stressors that are an active and constant part of their lives. I view my classroom as a place where my children can just be young learners who are provided opportunities to be successful, joyful, cooperative, enthusiastic, and risk takers.
