My students will use the rug for our whole class meeting times. I also teach science utilizing the front of my room and smartboard and currently have the students sitting on the tile floor, these students come to me at the end of their academic day which starts at 7:25 and doesn't end till 3:40. These students could greatly benefit from a space that is comfortable when they have been sitting in their desk for many hours.
Learning how to keep organized is a vital skill that first and second graders need to learn. This rug has spaces for students to keep to themselves and to have a set spot they can call their own while they are learning and socializing with peers. The mailboxes will help keep the students organized with all the materials they are required to bring home daily.
