I teach in a self-contained autism classroom for 3-5th graders. My students struggle with their emotions, and they benefit from structure, but also need a safe way to expend their extra energy since they are constantly on the move. In my classroom, they are also learning social and behavioral skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
