I am an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme Coordinator Designate for Pre-K to 5th grade classrooms in my diverse, welcoming community. The students at my school are from all ethnic backgrounds and travel from all parts of our large, urban district to come to school each day. Our students are inclusive, accepting, and tolerant of differences because of the safe community teachers have created for them. The classrooms in our school are open, fluid spaces for children to co-create their learning experience and lead with inquiry and excitement. The students understand the importance of doing their best, problem solving as a process and not a product, and how collaboration can lead to greater success.
