Research shows that children learn better when moving. It’s not only good for their health, but studies state that it boosts their brain power. Students who can wiggle and move their bodies during academic lessons learn more effectively than students in a typical sedentary classroom. Just like adults get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day, students do too! They need more flexible and comfortable seating options to enhance their engagement and learning. Students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable. I don’t need the research to know what I have known for years as a teacher: Children do better when they can make choices and move while learning! That is why I am trying to fund flexible seating for my kids.
The Kore Wobble Chairs and stability balls will give my kids the permission and flexibility to sway, bounce, and wobble while they tackle difficult learning concepts. By making the room ‘ours’ instead of ‘mine,’ the students will have a sense of ownership that will make them more invested in their own education. Flexible seating helps my students feel physically and emotionally comfortable and engages them to learn in a way that actually works for them!
