I am a middle school Special Education teacher at a wonderful school where I get to teach an incredible and diverse group of kids. Our school is a Title I school with 95% minority, a rapidly growing ESL population, 98% free/reduced price lunch, and an average family income of $19,800. Our students come from homes where survival is crucial. Unfortunately, when survival is most important, literacy tends to take a back seat. My goal is to expose my kiddos to as much literature as possible, enriching them in any way I can.
