I like to think of my classroom as controlled chaos. I love for my students to be up, moving around, and actively engaged in their learning as much as possible. While I truly enjoy the days filled with messy, hands-on activities where everyone is having fun and fully involved, I also recognize that not every day looks that way.
In my K–1 self-contained special education classroom, I have the privilege of working with some of the most amazing little learners. Each of my students may need a little extra support and individualized instruction, but they are just as deserving of a safe, fun, and engaging classroom environment as anyone else. My goal is always to create a space where they feel supported, loved, and excited to learn.
