Since I teach English Language Arts, Science, and Math to sixth graders, they need to be able to access technology to assist them with learning the content and skills in all of these subjects. By using technology, my sixth grade students will be able to research information, do virtual science labs, read online books, write essays, create presentations, watch videos, practice math skills, and much more. Technology will allow them to interact with their learning, build their technological skills, and even differentiate their learning. It will also help them be motivated, engaged, and successful. Right now, my school has limited technology. During Hurricane Irma, many computers were damaged from flooding in both the school's computer lab and in my classroom. In addition, many of my students do not have their own computers at home so the only time that some of them are accessing technology is at school. Therefore, my students really need computers. Computers will really help my students improve their learning in all subject areas and provide them the tools that they need to be successful. Learning will be so much better using technology.
