98% of my students live below the poverty line and are provided with free or reduced lunches. My school is located in one of Chicago's most dangerous neighborhoods and so, I want my students to feel like their classroom is a fun and a safe place to learn. My students deserve the best because they are battling against many obstacles beyond their control. Most of my students will not come to school with backpacks or school supplies. But, I still want to provide them with these materials so that they do not miss out on any learning opportunities! These are the children of our country's future, and they will be a beacon of hope in this community and in the Chicago-land area. But, they cannot do this alone. I need your help to make this classroom a place where they can dream, grow, thrive, and be the creative selves that I know they are.
