We will be making things like hand embroidered sugar skull pillows, magazine bowls, oil pastel abstract drawings, self portraits and more. Students will learn how to silk screen, carve woodblock prints, create adire cloth pillows, tie-dye, and more. This is why I requested things like pillow stuffing, glue, scratchboard and sculpey. These supplies add up but result in a well rounded art curriculum. We will learn about various art works from countries like Mexico, Vietnam, Japan, India, America, and regions like West Africa and Western Europe. Students will use these art supplies to create work based on art from all these areas but will add their own unique spin.
