I have 8 different centers in my classroom and I want my students to have materials that will provoke an engaging and a creative thought process to develop their love for learning. With these materials, students will have an opportunity to achieve goals in the domains of physical development, health, and well being, literacy, mathematics, arts, scientific investigations and self, family and community.
In play, a child is always above his average age, above his daily behavior; in play, it is as though he were a head taller than himself- Lev Vygotsky.
My centers will be child-lead and play-based. This is where the materials come in, I want my materials to be engaging and diverse so students will want to explore the different centers and expand on what they have learned.
