Flexible seating in my classroom with give my 6th grade students an opportunity to decide where they get to sit, what materials work best for them, and take pride in their personal learning environment. Students spend longs hours in a classroom with the expectation that they are supposed to pay attention and give their 110% without flexible seating.
This project will give students a chance to refresh their learning environment, become flexible and focus on becoming leaders in the classroom, community, and beyond! Students will be given the expectation to take charge in their learning environment, collaborate with peers, take responsibility for their classroom and overall environment. Flexible seating will be highly appreciated in the classroom by giving students the choice to learn in their most personalized learning style and seating arrangement. Students can fully engage in all subjects that are learned inside and outside of the classroom environment!
As a first year teacher, this project will help me as an educator and learning facilitator to provide various options for students such as lap trays, wobble stools, bouncy bands, and sitting disks to encourage choice of where they sit and how they learn. Students will get moving, get fun, and flexible seating for everyone! Thank you so much for your generous consideration of donating to my project and helping foster a creative and flexible learning environment for our leaders and teachers!
