Algebra class should be exciting and different. The presentation carts and the bean bags will make a difference in my students' learning because it will allow them to get comfortable and still be engaged in learning Algebra. All of my classes have a mixture of special education students, 504 students, ADHD students and regular education students. The students that need to stand or can't see the board will still be able to work using the presentation carts. The carts also allow for partners. Those shy, anti-social students can feel comfortable and be successful using the bean bags.
It's unlike any Algebra classroom they've ever seen! Everyone can't sit in rows all day. The students need to take responsibility of their learning. They need to be able to relocate when necessary, meaning move next to someone who can help them or move away from a distracting student. I want them to be able to do that.
