I have 18 students in my class. They walk in the door each day with bright smiles on their faces, full of enthusiasm and excited to be in school. For many of them, their first exposure to a classroom environment is with me in kindergarten. They recognize fellow students and their teachers as their school family. Diversity is a prominent aspect within our school, anyone can come to our school and feel like they belong. Coming into school this fall, many students have limited foundational literacy and math skills. They are learning to write their names and identify letters and numbers. We are all excited by the growth that is taking place! Their level of confidence is evident as they continue to develop a sense of responsibillity and become more self-directed, independent thinkers.
