As special education learners, my students require various access points in order to be successful in the classroom. By having unlimited access to laptops during the day will only stand to increase their ability to engage and explore. We currently share a laptop cart with 8 other classrooms, making it virtually impossible to plan lessons that will meet the various learning styles of my students. My students with special needs require technology in order to be successful in preparing for college and career. My students will use these laptops to research and write essays. In addition, they will work on preparing for a Career Development and Occupational Studies endorsement. Many of the students have little to no access to computers at home, making it crucial to have the availability at school.
