I work in a low socioeconomic area, in South Florida. Many of my students are immigrants or children of immigrants. For many, English is a new language waiting to be explored, and often they are anxious to learn the language and express themselves effectively. I truly enjoy watching my students walk in through the doors of the building, and stand amazed to see all the "wonders" that we have here, compared to what they have access to elsewhere.
