We do not have enough headphones for every student in the classroom, and students are often distracted with what is going on around them. Additionally, many of my students use the computer to access books they can listen to because they are learning to decode words and become English speakers. Having headphones accessible in the classroom will make learning more efficient and enjoyable. Students will be able to block out the noises and distractions around them and focus on what they are learning while using technological tools. Finally, because classroom teaching is becoming more technologically advanced, we are using computers, Chromebooks, and iPads more in the classroom (for tests, projects, papers, and books). Without the use of headphones, students are often unable to stay focused and give 100% to the task they are working on.
