I have a classroom of energetic and excited First graders. These students come from many different backgrounds and situations. This leads to a wide range of experiences, personalities, and background knowledge my students come to school with. Even though each one of my students is different, they are all excited to be in the classroom and learning. They are learning to become fluent readers, building their comprehension skills, becoming fluent in math addition and subtraction facts, among other skills. These first graders like to take an active approach to their learning, and I love to allow them to have numerous opportunities to engage and interact with what they are learning and each other.
