In our classroom, my students struggle with basic life skills. Two of those skills are organization and responsibility. My students will practice these skills each and every day as we utilize our binders during warm up, lab activities, and for test reviews. Each student is responsible for their binder, and this promotes independence. Without binders and dividers, my students will not have a way to organize their materials, keep up with their materials, or learn to be responsible for their belongings. Giving my low-income students the opportunity to use simple materials such as binders and dividers is just one way of investing in their future.
