The school that I work at is a public school with about 800 students enrolled. 0ver 50% of our students are English Language Learners. Our school is a public school in an urban and low-income (79.7%) community in Chicago.
I teach a first grade classroom. I have a classroom of 28 wonderful 6 and 7 year olds. My class is very diverse; consisting of different academic levels and students from many different countries and cultures. About 75% are English language learners. Every morning all of the students walk into my classroom eager and ready to learn. They are a fabulous bunch. They are young enthusiastic students with a passion for knowledge, but certain hands on visual tools are needed in order for the students to reach their full potential throughout the year in my classroom. Please help bring these experiences to life.
