Our students come from a low-income area with nearly 100% receiving free and reduced priced lunches. This environment can produce certain obstacles to education, such as: an inability to meet a child's basic needs, working parents who may lack the time or resources to provide academic supports and a whole slue of of other difficulties. While these challenges exist, they do not deter our students from striving towards goals and succeeding in endeavors. Through our commitment to developing relationships, building supports and creating a positive learning environment, I continue to see the gap lessen. Our school does everything it can to support the needs of our children both academically and socially. Our children continue to show scholarship, purpose and grit and need a classroom that will continue to foster their growth.
