With my adventure theme, my students will be able to use electronics to explore different topics we are learning about in social studies and also dive into reading different stories or browse through reading apps. Not only will the tablets I am requesting be beneficial, but the flexible seating will be great so that the students will be comfortable around the room as they explore! I want my classroom environment to be set up like the students are exploring. This is where the sleeping bags, camp chairs, and bean bag chairs come into play. As they read during reading workshop class, the more comfortable they are, they more likely they will be interested in reading.
There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open. The students can use the headphones and their tablets to record themselves while they read. They will be able to play back and hear their reading to see what they can work and improve on when we meet for conferences. I want my students to feel confident when they read aloud. My goal is for my students to have an amazing journey this year and have a classroom full of supplies, materials and everything they need to be successful!
