With the easel, my students can share their knowledge with others in their class, as well as giving them a boost of confidence as they present to the class. It also allows me to create and display anchor charts my students can use as reference throughout the school year. My class is full over diversity and they will be able to identify the characters and situations within the books. The books cover the Nevada Academic Content Standards for ELA and social studies. We will be able to use these books for various projects in the classroom. I am hoping to gain more buy in with my students since they will see themselves in the books. We will also use these books during social-emotional lessons to create a close class community and work through many of the traumas my students have faced due to COVID-19.
