My students are so capable and brilliant, but, being in two low income schools and having the arts programs in many public schools across America with less and less funds, we are struggling to move beyond what they have mastered.
My students do not have access to many art supplies when they aren’t in school. Over the pandemic when we were on Zoom, many of the students didn’t even have a pencil or paper to draw on.
My students amaze me every day with their creativity and wonder. I want to make sure I do everything I can for them to excel, show them the beauty of the world around them, and understand their own creative minds!
