We live in a rural community where students often have lived their entire lives never having seen the ocean. It is up to the teachers to create a variety of experiences for them. Reading the story of Lily is approachable for our struggling readers while also engaging enough to challenge our advanced students. Unfortunately, many of our students experience prejudice everyday, but do not understand the fight that was fought to ensure civil rights for ALL US citizens.
About my class
