My students will use the play dough alphabet stamps during centers and small groups to develop letter-recognition and literacy skills. They will use the alphabet stencils to strengthen phonological and phonemic awareness. The students will use the construction paper and markers to work on language development activities knowledge of the alphabet.
Literacy development starts early in life; and the more experiences students have with oral language, alphabetic code, and print knowledge the more likely they will be able to read with fluency, prosody and automaticity. It is crucial for students to develop a strong language and literacy foundation in the early childhood years.
