I teach students in grades 9-12 from various backgrounds. Building relationships with my students always comes first. We love to have fun in our classroom; I provide a snack cupboard (because a hungry kid is a hungry kid), we play music during independent work, and I allow students to share whatever they need in order to feel comfortable. I'm a big believer in projects based learning, so I do a lot of application when learning (escape rooms, character autopsies, one pagers, creating podcasts or TikToks, etc).
