"Ms. S, can we listen to some more music? I like this!" This year, my students started a tradition in class called Baile Viernes, in which students danced to a song in Spanish and then discussed it. My students have asked and asked for more music in class, and I think music is a great way to learn about cultures, and also to learn about language.
I am asking for 6 iPods and 6 headphone splitters so that students can listen to music from different cultures and also listen to heritage speakers of Spanish. Lastly, they will be able to listen to audiobooks to correspond to the books that they have been studying in class. Input of the language is key so that students' output of the language can be authentic and comprehensible.
