Welcome to Ms. S's Global History!
This is my second year teaching at the historic Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn (Bed-Stuy), NY. It is a community school that holds remarkable importance to this neighborhood and all of NYC. I love my job and my students and I work hard every day to make sure they enter my classroom feeling welcomed and leave feeling that they learned something new every day.
BGHS is a school that is currently struggling. We are working very hard to continue its legacy by pushing our students (and ourselves) to succeed and to keep the school open. I currently have about 140 students in the 5 classes I teach. Many of them go through tremendous personal struggles and school is a place of safety and support. My students often need help with their daily supplies, and we lack some valuable history/geography resources, which is my primary reason for creating this page. Thank you for your help!
