Creating an inclusive classroom library is important to the culture of a class. I would like my classroom library to not only help my students become the best readers they can be but also help all my students feel part of our classroom community.
Having books that make all students feel welcome and represented will make a difference in the lives of my students. With the excitement of the addition of new books that can reflect the experiences and interests of my students, I hope to create a stronger connection to books and enjoyment of reading. I hope by providing more books with diverse characters and topics, it will give my students more chances to continue to learn about people, historical events, and cultures.
I hope by adding these books to my classroom library, my students will be able to choose books to read that reflect themselves along with creating a window into others' lives.
