The young learners of today need to be prepared for a world that is and will be much different than what their teachers and parents were prepared for. Students today need to have a strong background in computer science in order to compete for jobs in the modern world. Students are motivated to learn with technology and have a strong desire to understand their devices. Coding improves creativity, problem solving, collaboration, and communication. It is a skill that is fun and satisfying and also builds persistence. Coding has become a vital skill in the modern world and I am excited to prepare our young learners for that. Osmo is a unique educational gaming accessory that opens up a student's iPad to the infinite possibilities of physical play. With the Osmo Coding Awbie Game, students are introduced to coding. By playing the game, the students develop logic and problem solving skills which are invaluable skills in life. It also helps them to be successful in our increasingly digital world. The Osmo Genius Kit is an interactive learning game that includes 5 games for students to explore within the areas science, math, art, and literacy. The Genius Kit promotes creativity and problem solving. The Omo gaming kits and coding board games will be used in learning centers through out the classroom. They will allow for students to interact with their classmates, develop age appropriate computer science skills, foster creativity, and develop essential problem solving skills that will transfer to all academic areas.
