My students learn best while creating, and these spiral sketchbooks will help us do that! Our class will use visual note-taking and creative journalling techniques to record our questions, knowledge, and ideas in meaningful and expressive ways. With this journal, students will connect their learning to their own lives. We will also use this sketchbook to uncover the connections across subjects, exploring where math, science, art, reading, and writing all connect. Watercolor, pen, ink, and collage will all be used, so our class needs sketchbooks with sturdy, mixed media pages. These are the best price for size and quality that I've found. The other supplies, such as gesso, mod podge, and painters' tape help us personalize our books and will expand our mixed media possibilities. Over time, these sketchbooks will become beautiful keepsake journals students will enjoy revisiting, and will thus continue to renew their knowledge and memories all year and beyond!
