We are a Dual Immersion elementary school in Southern California. My students are a mix of English only speaking students with Spanish only speaking students. Both are learning a second language. They are learning to speak, read and write in both languages. What they need are Spanish language models via rich literature, otherwise known as books on tape. We use a listening center in our class during independent work time. Though we alternate the language of instruction each week we are limited to a handful of books in Spanish. My students want to hear books read in Spanish. Please help!
