Welcome to Montessori! We are a class of 25 students and 2 teachers in a pre-kindergarten and kindergarten mixed-age classroom. We serve in a low-income public school in Indianapolis, Indiana. As three, four, five, and approaching six year olds, we are curious, eager to learn, working to be more independent, and developing our foundational skills that will lead us to success throughout our schooling and our lives! Students in our classroom come to learn the beginnings of reading, writing, and math, as well as social courtesy and managing our emotions. It is important to us to be engaged, hard-working, self-managing, and working to challenge ourselves. Our Montessori classroom allows a lot of student choice and self-guided pacing, which builds focus and creates independence. We love choosing our work and pushing ourselves to be better!
