Budget cuts have lead to numerous layoffs greatly impacting my low income school. My school district lost teachers, teacher aides, librarians, art instructors, nurses, psychologist, custodians, secretaries, assistant principals, etc. The following are a few examples directly impacting my students education: *My student to teacher ratio has increased to 25:1. *I will only have an aide to help me individualize instruction for approximately 50 min. per day. * My students may have difficulties checking out books because we lost our librarian. *My students may not have an opportunity to receive art instruction (i.e. drama, theater, and dance) from district art teachers, which is why I need an ipod and dock. As a co-teacher, I will be responsible for incorporating art, physical education, and language development for all kindergarten students at my school. However, due to budget cuts my school is unable to supply these resources.
