My students need a variety of non-fiction texts that are challenging but also that will help with oral and reading activities. Reading books is a daily activity in my classroom. The use of the non-fiction books will help my students practice learning to sound out words and retain what they read. I will use the non-fiction books in the teacher led center time to help my students develop schema and help with comprehension. My project will impact my students by getting them to read more and enjoy what they are reading. I want to create real-life readers that are prepared for real-world.
