My students who I affectionally refer to as "my babies" are a large part of my world. Our classroom is OUR home away from home. As a teacher working in a Title 1 school, our classroom is a place where everyone is motivated, loved, and pushed to be their very best. Where learning is fostered in an "emotionally and safe environment". I encourage my students to believe in themselves and to explore not only our culture and world but cultures and "worlds" beyond, to respect themselves and each other and to know that their is no limitations when it comes to learning. I teach them to take responsibility for their actions and choices while still being kids. Showing them that they can bloom wherever they are planted.
