My students are a creative group with autism in grades kindergarten through fifth who receive occupational therapy services. They are resilient, detail-oriented, curious, and greatly motivated by routine. They often excel with visual supports and learning materials.
Despite challenges with communication, many of students show deep empathy and understanding toward others, fostering strong, meaningful relationships with peers and adults. These students bring a lot of joy and enthusiasm to their interactions and activities, often brightening the classroom environment with their positive energy. Overall, the support they receive through occupational therapy helps harness and enhance these strengths, contributing to their growth and success in various areas of their lives.
