The majority of my students do not have access to books once they leave school for summer. The books from this project will be sent home with students so that they can keep up their reading during summer break. Getting books into their hands will help prevent the summer backslide and it will keep my students on track so they will be ready for 3rd grade. Being able to gift them with these items will mean the world to them. They are such hard workers and truly LOVE reading. My students love reading new books, so I know they will enjoy taking home a few for the summer.
