With our own set of laptops my gifted math students will have the opportunity to learn and enhance their computer programming knowledge on a weekly basis. I will use the leading curriculum for K-12 computer science at code.org. Their lessons are designed for each grade level, building on skills previously mastered. The vision is that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn computer science, just like biology, chemistry or algebra. With the addition of these computers that vision can become a reality. Along with computer programming the laptops will be used to enhance our math lessons and provide more specialized practice with the skills taught in our daily curriculum. The students will have the opportunity to find the area and perimeter, recognize quadrilaterals, determine how much time has elapsed, and many more. Thank you for considering our project.
