Caverna Independent Schools, nestled in the rural communities of Cave City and Horse Cave, Kentucky. Serving approximately 647 students from PreK through 12th grade. 75% of our those students qualify for free lunch.
As the district librarian, I have the privilege of serving students across all grade levels, acting as both a curator and a book matchmaker. Our current library collection is outdated and fails to reflect our student body’s experiences and aspirations. By introducing new, diverse, and engaging literature, I aim to provide students with mirrors to see themselves, windows to understand others, and doors to explore worlds beyond their immediate surroundings. This is not just about books and supplies; it’s about fostering empathy, enhancing literacy, and broadening horizons.
